Weedy Wednesdays with Karlie Eat to Live - Wild Mulberry Fruit and Nut Chocolates

This mulberry season really is cranking! The trees are loaded and branches bend under the weight. My students go crazy for a taste of those fat, juicy berries from our loaded tree at school and I also go a little nuts myself because mulberry trees grow wild and abundantly all along my cycling route home from school so it's takes me twice as long to get home at the moment, haha. ;p Yippee!

Just make sure you're not shy about partaking in the pickings this season, or they just end up as ant food on the footpath. :,(

Using the in-season mulberries I just picked, I'm making delicious berry smoothies and healthy homemade fruit n nut chocolates.

Healthy homemade fruit n nut chocolates:

1 part coconut oil
3 parts raw cacao butter
2 parts raw cacao powder...
(Optional: Maple or raw honey to sweeten) Mine's unsweetened, the berries are enough.

Melt first two ingredients in saucepan.
Cool to warm temp before asking cacao powder or the nutrients get destroyed. Add cacao powder. Stir thoroughly. Pour into moulds (or onto a lined tray to make chocolate bark) filled/topped with mulberries and activated almonds.

Refrigerate until solid. Turn out of moulds. Break up bark into bite sized bits. Enjoy your raw treats.
